I’m not sure who survived 1 month of preschool. Was it me or was it, Sweet Baby J? You know what I’m talking about mom. All the work that goes into preparing lunches and let’s not even talk about the torture that drop offs can be when they refuse to walk in or are just hysterical. I think it’s safe to say though that we both deserve a treat, but you want that treat to be healthy, right? Oh man, I’ve got a great suggestion for you, and I’ll tell you another AMAZING use we have for it as well. You’ll wonder how you ever did without this trick.
We love Outshine Fruit Bars so I’m glad to be able to use them for a sweet treat to celebrate the end of summer and the completion of 1 full month of preschool. We don’t do treats often so I knew that this would be a sweet thing to share while it was still warm enough outside. Plus let’s be real…no mess! Want to know my secondary trick for no mess Outshine Fruit Bar snacks? We give them to Sweet Baby J in the bathtub! We mostly use this trick to cool him down when he’s not feeling well, but it is AMAZING! You’ll want to pack that trick away for a rainy day.
Today, though, I want to celebrate the first month of preschool. The first month of extended time away from mommy and daddy. The first time I know I’m not crazy when I say he’s like the sweetest kid. His teachers comment on this A LOT. It’s fabulous to hear that reinforcement. I love hearing about how many words he knows from someone completely unbiased. Of course, we also get notes and incident reports for every scratch and bruise on his little body. He’s an explorer. He learns about momentum and gravity by going full speed down the hill. It can be nice for that to be someone else’s problem, haha! My child isn’t perfect, but it’s so beautiful to hear that he’s learning and growing at a rate that makes everyone who meets him proud. Plus, he’s a real ham.
Preschool pickup always reminds me of just how much we have to celebrate. We have a child who adapted to napping in a group situation. He’s moved to a toddler bed at home even. He’s starting to show more and more interest in the potty. We’re so close to being able to say no to diapers for baby #1! I look forward to celebrating that with a healthy snack of Outshine Fruit Bars as well. No, we don’t celebrate everything with food, but I sure do love a good fruity snack for those times that really impress me. You can find where to buy them here.
