First, I want to say Happy Mother’s Day to all you lovelies! I know that you’ve had a year full of struggles. It’s been a year of late night feedings, tantrums, smart mouths, and so much more. You deserve this special day to be celebrated by your children and all those who love you. I know you’ll remember the moments that are totally worth it though more than any other. I know I do.
I’m excited to team up with Gerber and Linqia to tell you about the moments that make it all worth it. I remember my first it’s all worth it moment as the day my child was born. I know that not everyone feels an instant bond with their baby, but I experienced a strong and immediate reaction to the little guy. I held him close to me, and I knew his little warm body was everything that I’d hoped for in life. I looked at his itty bitty fingers and toes, and I could just eat them all up. It was a beautiful experience even if it wasn’t the experience I had dreamed of when I got pregnant. I think that it’s important to remember that things don’t always work out perfectly, but you’ve got that little bit of happiness making your journey all that much more sweet.
In this moment, I was so overwhelmed by my emotions that it would be hard to describe them to you. It was a mixture of happiness and overwhelm. He was finally here. I was finally able to hold the little bundle of joy we’d been waiting on for months. I was able to kiss his soft skin and love on him all the time. I also was terrified as well. I went from an incredible euphoria of feeling like I was competent during the day to feeling completely worthless in the evening. The fact that we survived our hospital stay was totally another it’s worth it moment. We were experiencing highs and lows between the day nurses and the night nurses. I was not prepared for all this. I would’ve certainly asked for the head nurse if I had known what a struggle we were going to have there, but I feel like it also made us stronger and more united. It was totally worth it.
I want to again wish you the happiest of Mother’s Day! What are some of your it’s worth it moments? Leave me a message in the comments.
