Are you struggling with getting your child to bed? I’ve been there, and I know how frustrating it can be for all involved. Your child is cranky because they’re too tired, and you’re at your wits end for how to help them. In my house, it was definitely all about keeping our bedtime routine the same every night. This means we change the diaper, brush teeth, put on pajamas and read. We’ve found these 4 books made the transition from play to bed a breeze.

This is a cheeky tale about a gorilla and a zookeeper that brings out the most delightful giggle from my son. He’s liked cheeky animals since birth so I’m not surprised. I think your child will feel the same.
This one is just a classic. Your mom probably read it to you as a child. Our copy is actually the one he was read as a child. I don’t think you can really go wrong with the classics. It took my son a little while to grow to like this one, but he’s totally into it now.
This book was one that we received from Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, and it was an instant hit. My son loves the pictures of the animals and the idea of them going to sleep just like him.
Sandra Boynton just seems to have her finger on the pulse of the toddler set. The books are fun, silly, and they words are catchy. We really enjoy the giggles that come from another bunch of cheeky animals!
