Last month was the first time I participated in this link-up, and I’m so happy that I did. It makes me take time to really focus on my month, and then I can learn from it. It’s all about what worked and what didn’t. This month I have been overwhelmed with work, but I’ve also learned a lot about myself and my business.
What I Learned in February:
1. I can get up at 6:30am and work
Okay, I know this seems like a no brainer, because we can all get up and work at 6:30. We can. It’s true. It’s a matter of desire to really get at that hustle, but I’m a spoonie. This means I have to spend my life counting my spoons and how many I have left to spend. I’m lucky in that the majority of my symptoms went away during and after my pregnancy, but I’m not out of the woods. I still suffer from exhaustion and memory fogs. Okay, I know these could be related to being a parent. The truth is though that I thought I required more sleep and that 6:30 would make my day harder in the long run, but I’ve found for the most part I feel more refreshed and productive.
2. Tricks to growing my Instagram following
This one should have been a no-brainer for me months ago, but I failed at listening to myself. I have pushed forward though and it has grown. I now have over 100 new and engaged followers. I taught everyone how to do it on Periscope. You get real and exclusive content there guys so I hope you’re following me.
3. If you put yourself out there opportunities will come
This month I sent an email off to become a contributor for Huffington Post. I received an email that I was accepted. I’ve also had a conference call with a mommy magazine, and it seemed to go well. I had to really put myself out there and outside of my comfort zone, but it has worked wonders. I am glad to have you all along for the ride.
4. Organization with a 1-year-old is hard
It’s true ya’ll. I seriously get something organized only to have my 1-year-old pull it off the shelf and demolish it. I’m up for any and all tips!
5. Losing weight is easy if you stick to a plan
I love Weight Watchers for so many reasons. The main thing I love about it is ease of use. The new Smart Points system has made my life. I seriously get so much to eat, and I’m already down 10lbs. You can follow my journey here with my Sunday Funday posts, which will now be a twice a month feature.
6. Planning a Little Blue Truck Party takes creativity
Little Blue Truck isn’t something that has been made into a huge retail business. This means that I had to get super creative with our birthday plans for Sweet Baby J. Last weekend, we hosted a party which included lots of farm animals and barns! If you follow me on Instagram then you’ve seen how it is coming together day by day. Exclusive content ya’ll. You don’t want to miss out.
What did you learn in February?
P.S. January
CONGRATS on being accepted HuffPost! Also, I can’t imagine what organization is like with a 1-year-old since I’m not organized in the slightest and I don’t have any kids. haha
Thank you! It has been wonderful! I love being organized with my baby. It makes getting out of the house on time easy peasy. I’ll have to write up how.
