As we gear up for the holiday season, I’m presenting to you my last month of It’s Worth It! I honestly have so many It’s Worth It moments with my small child that I still plan to share with you, but this series just isn’t a great fit for our space. I look forward to still sharing our life and times with you, because I truly want you to know it’s not all loss of sleep and being peed on all day. I’ll tell you though it was a close one yesterday.
Sunday, we went over to the Biltmore House to take our holiday card photo. It was a beautiful yet cold day. Sweet Baby J never once complained though. He was a real trooper. We bought him a ball that glitters and lights up, and he was set. The truth is though that anyone who tells you photographing babies is easy is flat-out lying. I had to get down on the cold ground and hope for the best. Any photographer can tell you that it takes hundreds of shots to get one photo of a group looking fabulous so I’m sure you can imagine that moving babies aren’t easy. Plus it’s all about perspective. I had to get below Sweet Baby J to get the real shot.
It was truly worth it though, because we eventually got a perfect set of shots for the holiday card. There were more shots than I could use even. I was happy to share the outtakes with our friends this morning. We got photos of the whole family. Photos of Sweet Baby J with each parent. Photos of the whole family. I couldn’t have been more pleased. Plus, it was totally worth it that he didn’t pee on me in the bathroom!
You see I had unhooked his diaper in the bathroom in order to get a new one on, but I wasn’t fully prepared. He was a sweet boy though who held his diaper up against himself as he peed instead of flailing everywhere and spraying it all over me. It was that moment that really saved the photos and the day. It’s always worth it when your babies are polite!
What are your worth it moments of the day?
