These last couple of weeks have been rough. I was sick and then the baby was sick. It broke my heart to see him so under the weather. The only real benefit to my being sick was that I finished the season of The Great British Baking Show that Netflix had available when my son was napping, and I took a minute to rest I’d watch an episode. It was fabulous. If you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend it. It’s not nearly as dramatic as its American counterparts, and I was grateful for that. Now I’m trying to catch up on the last two seasons of How I Met Your Mother so no spoilers please! Anyway this blog post is supposed to be about what I see for The Dahlia Scene moving forward, and I’m excited to share that with ya’ll.
The last few weeks have had me thinking about exactly what I want from this blog, and I know that I want it to be a special place. I want it to be the kind of place where I can talk to ya’ll like we’re the bestest of friends. I want to be able to be myself. That means I’m going to have to get back to the posts that make me the most happy. I’ve been incredibly happy with this blog and how it’s brought us together, but I know I need a little something more for the future. I need to focus on the local cuisine, local events, places we visit, and of course Sweet Baby J. I plan to share with ya’ll a little of all of that, and I know that all of us will feel better for it.
I’m happy to be here in Asheville, and I know that’s true in part because of the community. The community that I want to share with all of ya’ll. This is especially true now that we are in the process of buying our first home on this side of the country. We worked very hard to find the perfect place with help from my in-laws, Marilyn and Michael. They helped us to find a realty expert in our area by getting us a referral. They can help you too if you’re looking to move as it’s a service they provide to people who are relocating. Marilyn will talk to realty experts in your local area to find a great fit for you and your needs. No, they didn’t pay me to say any of this nor have I been coerced in any way. I merely think it’s pretty awesome to be able to have a little help finding what you’re looking for in a new town, and I didn’t know about this service before we moved.
Anyway, I’m basically saying that this blog is going to get back to featuring more and more of my favorite things. We’ll talk about local food, local activities, and some really cool opportunities I’ve been given. If you like food, fun, and kids you’ll want to stick around. I’m also working on Winter Activities in North Carolina post I know ya’ll will love. Please let me know if there is anything I can do here for you at The Dahlia Scene. We’re working hard on completing some ideas I had for the site, and I know we’ll be providing amazing content now and in the future.
