In our house, we love to read. My little guy mostly loves to pull all of his books off the shelf at the moment, but we typically read one right after so that he can begin to associate getting a book with reading. I’ve noticed that he has a few favorites. I also feel like I can really approve of these so I wanted to share them with you.

Little Blue Truck has easily become a favorite in our house. Sweet Baby J loves the sounds you make when reading it. He loves the animals and the sounds of the trucks. When I read it, I always make the dump truck sound like the giant from Jack and the Beanstalk. The moral of this one is that we all need a little help from our friends.
This is another book that Sweet Baby J adores. He loves listening to the sounds of the animals and the typewriter. I usually end up reading this one incorrectly in spots, and it makes the whole family laugh. I love it because it’s just a silly book. Cows that type, haha.
It is absolutely impossible not to love this cheeky bear. He’s always a riot. This was the first book I really read to Sweet Baby J. We could read it on the Kindle at a time when he wasn’t really interested in books at all. It was just nice for him to hear our voice after all. We really enjoyed it and soon he was reacting to the small bear and his wild adventures. Bears always land on their feet though so don’t expect too much calamity!
Sweet Baby J has recently found an interest in this one. He loves to giggle as he is tickled in all the different ways the book explains he should experience. He thinks it is hilarious. Of course my husband doesn’t enjoy it so much when it’s time to gitchy goo a million friends since I usually turn on him. I’m the lucky not ticklish one in this house!
Grover is so lovable for this entire book. Sweet Baby J loves looking at the book and hearing about the zany things Grover is doing to keep you from turning the page. It helps when you make noises about what’s going and acting like it’s difficult to turn the page. The moral seems to be that not all monsters are scary. Grover is furry and lovable after all. The sequel to this one is just as awesome.
These are definitely what I’d call 5 amazing books for your little one. I’d say out of all the books we’ve picked up in the last few months these are the 5 amazing books for us. We are looking for the next 5 amazing books for us to read. What are your favorites? What would your child consider to be the 5 amazing books in their collection?
