Summer is almost here so it’s time to break out the Summer Reading List. I tried to do this last year and failed, but I don’t want to give up. Summer reading is something that everyone can get excited about after all. We all go on vacations or just have more free time with long summer weekends. Plus, I really want to finish my reading challenge for the year early this year. Last year, I spent much of the fall/winter playing catch up with my reading list. Fortunately, I didn’t want to do much else since I was so pregnant, and I was able to complete it. This year I set the bar a little lower knowing that I’d have a newborn and might not have as much time to read. It turns out though that I am able to read each time he eats. I mean it’s not like I can run a marathon while he’s attached to my breast, right?
This year I’ve selected four books again, but I’m ahead of the game in that I’ve already purchased or checked out 3 of them. So without further adieu here is my summer reading list.
The Sherlockian was recommended by my Mother-in-law and my husband has already torn through it. I’m excited to get my hands on it next.
Neanderthal Seeks Human This little contemporary romance was recommended by Linda Holmes from NPR’s Pop Culture Happy Hour, which is my favorite podcast. I love listening to it, and I’ve found the book recommendations that come from it to be fabulous.
As we are about to hit the road for the great trip cross-country to our new home, I am excited to have my summer reading material at the ready. Where do you do most of your summer reading? What kind of books do you prefer for summer reading?
