I’ve wanted to tell ya’ll forever! You can’t even imagine the many times I’ve set down to write this post only to realize it wasn’t the right time. Now I feel confident that I can spread forth the news. I’ve been married less than 1 year, and we’ve tackled all the stressful stuff up front. We got married, had a baby, and now we’re moving. Where are we moving to? We are moving to Asheville, North Carolina.
Many of you will remember last years road trip from the blog, but what you didn’t know is that we were looking for our new home. We made a list of places we’d consider moving and then we visited. We loved Asheville, because it’s a hip town. It’s also not massively large. Plus, we can get twice the house and land that we can afford out here in Southern California. Did I mention that we wouldn’t have the massive drought? I didn’t? Well we won’t. The area gets plenty of rain every year.
Asheville also has a fabulous food and beer scene. It’s not called Beer City, USA for nothing. It has the largest amount of craft breweries per capita than any other city in the US. It now has an up and coming food scene to match. They are able to pair amazing locally sourced selections with your favorite local brew. There are also more breweries moving in soon. Plus there are 11 farmer’s markets!
The art scene is always thriving in Asheville. It’s a mountain town with a lot of history in the arts. I stopped by the LYS, Local Yarn Store, for a minute while I was there, and I was in love. It’s the kind of town where you walk in and everyone knows you. They know the projects you’re working on as well. It’s easy to get along with everyone, and they are all so friendly.
Ya’ll I can’t wait to be back home in the South. I’ve missed it tremendously while being in LA, but I also know that this is only the first new adventure my family will go on. Stay tuned to see what happens next!
If you could move anywhere, where would you move?
