I know it’s been awhile since I’ve done one of these, but I thought I’d share a little bit about what’s going on in my life right now that we are so close to term. I can’t believe that in basically 3 week we could have this baby without any issue. It seems like the time has flown by for me. I look at the time left every morning until the due date, and I’m shocked. It’s literally only 37 days til my mom is here to celebrate the arrival of the new little one! Of course we can’t be 100% certain the baby will be here by then, but I feel confident. Anyway, here is a look at how things are going now.Photo Credit: Jessica Boltman Photography
Favorite Moments: There have been so many great moments. I love watching my belly move when I’m relaxed. I love sharing moments with friends. I enjoyed the maternity shoot. I enjoy any minute when people aren’t asking me if I’m sure there is only one in there really.
Eating: A lot of the same stuff I’ve been eating the entire time. We try to keep the protein and iron levels up to par, but it isn’t always easy. I honestly don’t eat that much meat so I know I lose out on some of it.
Drinking: A lot of water. I get thirsty a lot more as we get into the final stretch, and I want to stay hydrated. I throw in a Sprite and the occasional glass of sweet tea, but I try to be pretty good for the most part.
Feeling: In pain and exhausted all the time. I had a really bad stint with the carpal tunnel and radial muscle in my right arm, which I’ll tell ya’ll has made it incredibly difficult to type every day. The midwifery gave me some DoTerra Deep Blue Rub that I’m loving right now, and I got a massage so that I could start typing up things for the blog at least. My glutes and hips hurt as the baby begins to drop. My feet and hands are starting to swell a bit more than they had been in the past few months. I’ll admit though that the swelling isn’t too bad for the most part so I can’t really complain.
Weight gain: Close to 40lbs now. I walk every day, and I do the exercises I’m supposed to do so I’m going to stop feeling bad about this one. I’m all belly and a lot of it seems to be water since I’ve measured large for a few weeks now. We shall see though, because it could just be a huge growth spurt from baby. We’ll get to see how big baby is on Saturday. They’re doing one last ultrasound for growth.
Missing anything: I still miss some ahi tuna and lobster. Last night one of my favorite chefs was serving a uni risotto, and I wanted that too. It’s hard not to miss the good stuff.
My mood: I’m a bit more moody these days. It doesn’t take much to make me kind of rawr. I think this has to do with the highly irregular sleep pattern. I keep telling my husband that at this point if I had a newborn that let me sleep 1 hour between feedings I’d be getting more sleep.
Exercise: Walking daily around the neighborhood. I fell out of the Aqua Fit after we got back from Greece. The water was so cold.
Excited about: The fact that baby is almost here. I really can’t wait to be able to hold and smell the sweet little one. We are just so close to the finish line that it’s hard not to be excited about it.
