This weekend was a very busy time for us, because we couldn’t miss the Los Angeles Galaxy and their pursuit of their 5th MLS Cup. I am glad to be able to report that they won! Of course I’m sure many of you already knew that. This definitely made the fact I had bought my husband season tickets as a wedding present worth it. It meant that we were able to get first dibs at the post season as well as enjoy the entire ride. Of course we missed a couple of Los Angeles Galaxy games this year, but we were there for the majority of it. We were able to enjoy victories and really enjoy the ride that was Landon Donovan’s last season. What a way to go out, right?
The Los Angeles Galaxy became the first MLS team to win 5 MLS Cups! It made getting up early on a Sunday morning well worth it. I’ll admit we spent most of Saturday prepping. We had to gather ingredients, cook, and of course discuss drinks. I took my Martinelli’s for anyone who was curious. There is something about the sparkling apple juice that makes you feel like an adult when you can’t have alcohol plus Martinelli’s is delicious. I can’t wait to share it with the kiddo. Anyway, we got up early and went to the Stub Hub Center to tailgate before the celebration could begin. We had an incredible time catching up with our friends. Then there was the game. Trust me when I tell you that the Los Angeles Galaxy made it stressful. We scored first, but we weren’t able to hold the New England Revolution from also scoring. That was the goal that would send the game into extra time. This was the most intense 30minutes of the game. The Los Angeles Galaxy finally scored a second goal and this time we were able to hold them! The Cup was ours! We’re still partying today. We’ll probably still be partying until next year really, but can you blame us?
As you can tell the hubs and I were so excited to be there. I’ll admit that I took a lot of trips to the bathroom and almost missed the first goal. Thankfully the police kept stopping me to make sure I was okay, and I was held up just long enough to see it in an open gap where there weren’t crowds just standing about. Literally almost everyone we saw thought that I might go into labor while watching the game. It was crazy. I still have 10 weeks and a day til my due date, but random strangers are really stressed for me. I kept assuring them I’d be fine. I was fine too. The game was fabulous and the Los Angeles Galaxy won so all in all it was a good day with only a few minutes of me being rawr. I can’t wait to see if they can do it again next year guys!
