It’s almost Thanksgiving, ya’ll. How did that happen? I keep seeing the countdown to Christmas as well, and I can’t believe it’s a month away. You better bet I’ve been busy collecting gifts, hand stamping paper, and getting things ready for shipping out over the last few weeks. It’s kind of crazy to think how busy it gets this time of year so I wanted to slow down and think about the things I was thankful for this year right now with you. What are you thankful for? Help me celebrate this week of thankfulness with all your cheer as well. I know we all have things to be thankful for even when it feels like our plate is full, right?
I’m thankful for…
Today, I wanted to start with the fact I am thankful for my husband. He’s truly a gem that I could brag about for hours, but I’ll try not to bore you with the minute details for my thankfulness. I do want to share with you how incredible it is to have him as a partner though. I survived traveling cross-country with him so he definitely must be special, am I right? I hope that all of ya’ll wake up every morning feeling blessed with the life that you live. I hope that we all can wake up look at our significant other and know that they’re just perfect for us. If you don’t have one, I hope you wake up feeling glad to face a new day of awesomeness that you’re creating.
This guy though is extra special to me. He’s super thoughtful. Yesterday, we slept in a little, but I still wanted to make brownies. We were supposed to leave our house around 10:45. We woke up at 9:30. I had no eggs. He ran to the store while I showered to get eggs so that I could make the treat to take with us to the game. Yesterday, it was time for Round 2 of the MLS Playoffs, and I am glad to announce that my husband is happy with the result of the 1st half of that round. The Galaxy won. For once, I was even able to see the entire field and every goal. Okay there was only one, but I could see it go in the net. This is something huge for someone as short as me. The hubs made that happen. I am thankful to him for all those things yesterday, but I am mostly thankful to him for just being him.
Every day is truly fun. We work hard, but we are also able to play hard. Some days feel like a whirlwind from work to all the activities that we need to get done before the arrival of Sweet Baby J, but we are able to take all of it with laughter and fun. Sure, we get frustrated with each other sometimes, but I know that’s normal. We can’t always agree, but we usually do.
We weren’t sure how to paint the stripes on the nursery wall, but we finally came to an agreement. It looks amazing. I’ll share it with you once we get it all put together. After the game, we were able to put the crib together! I am so thankful that my husband is able to do things like paint, put together furniture, and even build things. I know that we are able to save money, which makes us both happy. I am thankful that we are able to laugh together as we realize that we put something together backward or in the wrong spot, and we have to take everything apart. Lord knows it won’t be the last time we do that!
Mostly I am thankful that we are able to work together to get things done. I am thankful that we can laugh together. I am thankful that we cook together. I am thankful that we do practically everything together really. Sure, we have hobbies and things we do apart, but it’s nice to know that we can do those things together too. I am thankful that we enjoy each other’s company. I am thankful that our friends really enjoy spending time with us. I am thankful that I am so in love with the hubs! I could just shout out with glee!
What makes you thankful?
