We are finally at the last of the honeymoon photos! Some of you are probably excited about that. There might be a few of you who are sad to hear it, but I promise that there will be more fun adventure coming your way soon! Today, I’m here to show you the other side of the island, which is quite frankly just as stunning as the other side if not more so!
I’ll admit that I wasn’t as big of a fan of the view from this side of the Santorini, but you can definitely tell how blue the water is here. It was just incredible. The water inside the caldera was very calm and beautiful.
We did make it to see some ruins. As you can see there are many winding staircases all around Santorini, but we were able to make it over to the Byzantine Castle on two separate occasions. It was better for me the earlier in the morning we got a start. The ruins are not what most people expect I think since they’re used to what you might see in Athens, but they are beautiful nonetheless. The view is outstanding from the edge of the castle out into the caldera. Also, you’ll see tons of couples here taking photos to remember their experience.
If you happen to be on this end of Santorini around sunset, you can get perfect pictures of it from just below this windmill. I wasn’t really brave enough to venture to that side of the island in the afternoon. It was the walk from our hotel. The windmill itself belongs to a luxury villa on that end of the island. It is absolutely beautiful though as you can see.
I hope you enjoyed our tour of Santorini as much as I enjoyed being there! I look forward to returning to Santorini someday so that I can get to do all the touristy style things that we missed. I don’t regret one second about this trip though!
