I realize I’m late today, and I’m about to just give you a post an image heavy post. It’ll all be clear later. Today I wanted to share with you the two parts of our Santorini, Greece adventure. I wanted to share with you the day walk we took that demonstrated how bad the wind was for part of our trip. I think it lasted about a day to a day and a half, but the wind was something like 20mph. It was rough walking around. Then, I also wanted to share with you our short trip to Finikia, Greece for a festival.
We’ll start with what it looks like when it’s windy in Santorini, Greece! This is the kind of day where you don’t want to be out to sea fishing, but I hear it doesn’t really stop anyone. We met a lady from Colorado running a shop who said her kids still go out fishing every day regardless of weather. She said they come home with broken bones or dislocated shoulders, but it doesn’t stop them. Why am I not surprised?
These were taken on the main drag of Oia. As you can see the ocean had some serious waves going on. Apparently the weather was just about to turn after we left to be even crazier. I couldn’t even imagine.
Oh and I forgot, I took a few picture of a grocery store on Oia. I found it interesting enough that I thought I’d share those with you and then we’ll get to our trip to Finikia.
Now we are on our way to Finikia. The highlight of that night was watching about 5 local men try to fix a broken spotlight. It was an incredible thing to see, but I couldn’t get any great pictures of it. It was quite dark without the light!
We had a really great time in Santorini. I’ll have a few more photos for you tomorrow. Where was your last vacation?
