Cross Country Road Trip Pt 12: The Grand Canyon

This post is a little late today, because I was feeling a little under the weather. I had a headache last night and then woke up this morning with a stuffy nose and sore throat. So needless to say I didn’t finish this post last night, and I slept in this morning. I didn’t want to skip out on all of you though. Today’s post is about the Grand Canyon, and I think that honestly the photos should speak for themselves for the most part. It was a lovely part of our trip and a great way to really end it. Don’t worry there will be at least one more post about the food at the Grand Canyon.

The condor was just sitting there so peacefully for everyone to watch, and I couldn’t resist the shot. It’s just a beautiful look at some of the amazing wildlife in the area. I also had a picture of some elk but they really blended into their background. I didn’t want you to miss out on the awesome details we were able to enjoy though.

Like this squirrel who straight up posed for the photo. He was standing with his profile to us until he heard the clicking. Okay, so maybe he’s not that self aware, but it was still pretty awesome.

Here I really wanted to capture the depth of the canyon. It’s so hard to get a good shot doing that though.

It was important though to get a picture of all that I could see of this massive canyon. It’s just beautiful to look at the changing colors of the rock.

I loved the branches on this tree. The shapes it created just spoke to me.

And of course if you see a plastic bag you gotta get an American Beauty shot, right? The road trip was incredible, and we survived it in one piece. I look forward to doing it again someday when we have more time to stop and see super random things.

Random tidbit about the Spanish…because of the river’s name, they all think I’m lying when I say the Grand Canyon is in Arizona and not Colorado…great pics and so jealous of an awesome road trip.
