Or as we like to say it, N’Awlins. It was a wonderful but quick part of the trip. The best part was getting to meet up with an old friend from college for beignets at the famous Cafe Du Monde. They were absolutely delicious in case you were wondering, but I’m pretty sure I was wearing powdered sugar for days.
We decided to drive down to Jackson Square instead of walk, but we wanted to walk around the area once we were there. We arrived a little while early for meeting my friend Heidi so we could explore the local shops. I ended up purchasing a couple of puzzles for my little nephews so that they would have something from our roadtrip. They did them as soon as we walked in the door in Knoxville and with only a little help.
The views were gorgeous from the square, and it was just nice to be able to walk along the river. It was hot, but it was pleasant along the water.
The hubs ended up getting stopped by a man on the top of the walk. He promised to be able to tell Jeremy where he got his shoes. If he was wrong, the hubs would get a free shoe shine. If he was wrong, the hubs would have to pay him $20. Now it’s set up so that he cannot be wrong, and we gladly gave him the $20. It was a story to tell after all. We look forward to hitting N’Awlins back up again someday.
Have you ever been to the French Quarter?
