Every Saturday, we attempt to go to the Farmer’s Market. It is our time. We use this time to collect most of the necessary groceries for the week and to decompress. It’s a long week at the office, but we can take a few minutes each Saturday to browse the lines at the farmer’s market. This week, it was a relaxing time of just choosing what looked good to us in the moment. Other times we go with a list.
The last few weeks haven’t left us with a lot of time to eat at home. Two days a week we have class. Some days I’m not hungry. This has been more and more common in the last few weeks. I guess it’s wedding stress. Other times we meet up with friends. This means that I haven’t created too many recipes as of late, but don’t worry I’m coming back to those soon.
This also means that we had missed a few weeks of the farmer’s market. We’ve had other obligations to attend to and all the final decisions to make. This reminds me that I still have to send information to the DJ. We’re providing him a whole playlist. I keep forgetting to send it to him though, because everyone else has been in my ear asking for things. Tomorrow, I will get to it.
There are two things we always get at the market. We always pick up fresh flowers for the week, and we always get breakfast. We don’t always get breakfast from the same stand, but we enjoy sitting there listening to the live music while we eat. Each week it is a different musician. Saturday it was a little rock-n-roll. We sit, talk, listen to music, and eat. Is there really any better way to spend a Saturday morning?
This week we had tamales. We had a chile cheese and a corn tamale. The corn tamale tasted almost like dessert. I think the best way to eat it was to stuff my face with the chile cheese tamale and then add a bite of the corn tamle. This cut the spice and provided a sweet element.
I’m not the kind of girl that puts on make-up every day. This seems obvious looking at the picture above though, no? As a kid, my mom insisted that if I wanted to go someplace then I had to be ready when the car was leaving. This meant that if she was leaving in 15minutes then I had to be ready then. I knew that primping was not in the cards. When I do put on make up, I still don’t take long. It’s just the basics.
Saturday mornings are about enjoying time with my Beeble and finding good food. As you can tell, I didn’t like the tamales at all.
How do you spend your Saturday morning?
