I’m taking Brittany’s advice and changing up the verbiage for this St. Patrick’s Day. I’ve already got the man but now I’ve got to keep him on his toes. Last week it was an epic egg yolk gnocchi quest. Now I have to gear up for St. Patrick’s Day and if you know me you know I’ll go all out. I love holidays. I especially love holidays that are easily themed and color coordinated. Presidents’ Day was not easy, but I’m looking forward to sharing in the luck of the Irish next month. In order to get us all prepared, I’ve scoured the internet to find the best green beverages that aren’t wheat grass. Here are 5 drinks that hit the top of the list.
1. Emerald Isle
This gin martini is made green with a little creme de menthe. Who doesn’t love a good martini? I’m going to go ahead and assume you’re James Bond and like it especially well shaken.
2. Everybody’s Irish
Even if you aren’t in the least bit of Irish heritage, we all are accepted as such on St. Patrick’s Day. This is a day about drinking and not about actual birth rite anyway. So take a swig of this Irish whiskey cocktail and go looking for the pot of gold at the end of that rainbow.
3. Green Apple Dublin Cocktail
So you’re more of an Appletini kind of gal? You’ll love this Apple flavored martini with a hint of Irish punch.
4. Irish Mint
If you’re looking for something a little more traditional then the Irish Mint is the way to go. It incorporates Irish Cream with Creme de Menthe for the perfect hint of green and Ireland in one singular drink.
5. Irish Trashcan
This is my personal favorite, because you basically throw everything at it. You have a lot of room to make changes as well. You’ll probably regret this one in the morning, but this is St. Patrick’s Day so just go ahead and enjoy it.
