Some of you I know are kind of sour on Valentine’s Day, and I could totally understand why. It’s a holiday with a lot of focus on being mushy and giving of frilly things that you feel like people forget every other day of the year. This doesn’t have to be true. You can celebrate your love everyday with the little things in life.
1. Put something special in their lunch.
Okay so you’re trying to eat healthy and save money by cooking your own meals at home, which is commendable, but you can find a way to spice it up. Put your love’s favorite snack in their box when they aren’t looking. Write them a sweet little love note just to let them know you’re thinking about them when they’re not there. This is all about the element of surprise, and it takes very little time on your part.
2. After they’ve had a hard day run them a bath.
A warm bath heals almost all that ails. The warmth will make them feel relaxed and good all over. here are some ideas for what to include in their bath. Okay so maybe these are a little more on the girly side, but you can find beer soap and other manly scents on etsy as well. Maybe I’ll make a treasury for something like that next.
3. Send them completely random messages.
Amongst my group of friends, you’ll often get a random message telling you to have a great day. There is no reason that you can’t do something similar with your love. You can just send them a random little note asking about their day, telling them you hope they’re having a fun day, or just send them a little super sexy photo. By super sexy I mean something like showing a little leg or maybe an extra button went undone. Don’t get thrown out of your own office in other words.
Taking a few minutes every day to just relax and be together is a great way to decompress. It will also help build up your happy emotions. It releases endorphins and other good stuff. You’ll feel good. You might even get a little action *wink wink*. Trust me it’ll help you sleep like a baby.
5. Tell them every day.
Actions do speak louder than words, but who doesn’t like to hear a little I love you every day. It reminds them that you do. It let’s them know that no matter how stressed out your are or how bad your work schedule is that they love you and they are there for you. It will brighten their day.
When I think of things worth celebrating, I think about celebrating the small things in life. Your love for each other or when you reach the smallest of goals. Remember to take time to celebrate your life.
