Nothing in life is ever impossible. Unless of course you decide that it is in fact impossible. Audrey was correct in saying that the word itself contains “I’m possible.”. This is something I believe we all need a reminder about especially myself. I find myself often thinking the negative rather than the positive about my talents, but that is my own fault. I have to push myself in order to stretch myself. I have to step outside my comfort zone in order to excel. Life is about making the impossible possible. I want you to take a moment and think of something you find impossible for yourself and then I want you to put together on a sheet of paper several small steps you could take toward that goal. You may not be ready to reach it yet, but if you can create the positive in your head then I believe you will get there.
Success is counted sweetest
By those who ne’er succeed.
To comprehend a nectar
Requires sorest need.
By those who ne’er succeed.
To comprehend a nectar
Requires sorest need.
Not one of all the purple Host
Who took the Flag today
Can tell the definition
So clear of Victory
As he defeated–dying–
On whose forbidden ear
The distant strains of triumph
Burst agonized and clear!
Emily Dickinson
Emily also has a good point. I believe that success is something we all strive for, but we all fail from time to time. Those of us who have tasted the sweet success of victory often have a harder time reaching the same high from it than someone who is still striving for their first triumph. We should all take a moment to celebrate our successes. Give yourself a treat today for even the smallest of achievements.
What have you achieved that you never thought possible?
